Obituary

M'Lynn Madewell was lifted from this life to her heavenly home on October 18, 2024.
She was born on October 2, 1962, to Jeanice (Parks) Madewell and Jimmy L. Madewell, both of Denton, TX.

M'Lynn attended Grace Temple Baptist Church with her family and graduated from Denton High School in the class of 1981. She worked for many years in retail sales developing her love of fashion. She was artistic and creative and loved decorating and design. She frequently surprised friends with sidewalk chalk "paintings" on their birthdays and they still mention memories of it frequently. M'Lynn's closest companions were her two Boston Terriers; Dash and Baxter. She loved them both immeasurably. She also inherited a long-haired Chihuahua, Cha Cha. They all brought her joy and comfort.

M'Lynn grew up with 14 cousins and remained in touch with them most of her life. In November of 2023, several of her cousins walked to "Defeat ALS" for the Texas Chapter of ALS, and several others donated to help raise awareness of this disease.

M'Lynn is survived by her mother, Jeanice Montgomery of Denton; sister, Pam Madewell of Dallas; and brother, Mark Madewell and wife Leah Ann Madewell of Krum. Three aunts; Gwynn Williams of Alpharetta, GA; Susan Phenix and husband Bill Seifert of Minneapolis, MN, and Wyn Imboden of Austin, TX. Also survived by her nephew, Jake Madewell, wife Megan, and their three children; Jaxon, Kenadee, and Lincoln; niece Jenny, husband Patrick Marable, and daughter Isabella. Also survived by her many friends, countless family friends, and her dog Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy L. Madewell; her stepfather, Claud Montgomery; aunts and uncles; Colette and Curtis McGinley, Jeanette and Bill Oxford, Don Imboden, cousin; Dionna Montgomery, and her grandparents; Cole and Mary Parks, and Fred and Velma Madewell.
