Obituary

Mollijean “Molli” Dearing was born on August 6, 1960, in Weatherford, Texas, and passed peacefully at her beloved historic home in Sanger, Texas, on March 24, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Carol Dutson, and her elder sister, Jennifer Dearing. She is survived by her five siblings—Brenda Porter, Elisa Fowler Smith, Sarah Sue Carter, Eva Paige Dutson, and Isaac Wayne Dutson—who all cherished her deeply.

Molli had the rare fortune of falling in love twice in her life. She was preceded in death by the fathers of her children, John E. Millichamp III and Richard W. Brand. She is survived by the children she raised with unwavering love, strength, and humor: Amanda Inez Muehlenthal and spouse David; Elizabeth Jean Millichamp; Brandon Edward Millichamp and spouse Traci; and Amie Rebekah Brand and fiancé Jonny Vowell.

Molli is also survived by her ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each one carrying a spark of her joy, grit, and spirit.

To her family and to all who crossed her threshold, Molli was the heart of the home—the matriarch who showed up when needed most. She was the one who offered counsel, comfort, refuge, and love without hesitation, taking in not only her own but any wayward soul who needed a place to land. She had an unmatched intuition for knowing what was needed, when, and for whom—an instinct that only the truest mothers possess.

Yet for all her wisdom and steadiness, Molli also held onto a wonderfully irreverent, childlike humor that could light up an entire room. Her laugh was contagious—truly a “Molli fun virus”—and no one ever wanted the cure. She could go from singing and telling hilariously offbeat jokes to playing baseball, tag, or creating gourmet meals that gathered everyone together. She made life brighter, warmer, and infinitely more fun.

Above all, Molli showed up. For her family, her friends, her community—she was there. With love, with laughter, with strength, with heart. That is the legacy she leaves behind.

Molli’s presence will be forever missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in her honor, to The Lung Cancer Research Foundation at https://give.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org/Mollijean.
