Mona LaRue Eggleston, 75 of Lake Dallas, Texas, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Texas. She was born on August 11, 1941, in Spur, Texas, the daughter of Gradie and Susanna Ritchie Norman. She married Robert "Bob" Glenn Eggleston, on October 5,1958, in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a granddaughter, Brittany Dawn Eggleston.
She was a stay at home mom where she was a band, basketball, cheerleader, football, and softball mom and fan. She was active in her children's lives as well as sharing hobbies with her husband, Bob. She was an artist, lover of wildlife, the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, a Texas Longhorn fan and was an active member of Lake Dallas Church of Christ for 40 years. LaRue was a member of the Ladies Bible Class at the church, until her health began to fail.
She is also survived by two daughters, Catherine & Darren Sams of Justin, Texas, Cheryl Eggleston & Kathleen Bonner of Lake Dallas, Texas and one son, Cary & Betsy Eggleston, Rockville, Maryland. LaRue was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Derek & Melissa Sams, Chelsea Sams & husband Chris Stephler, Geoffrey & Cassie Sams, Jared Eggleston and Sarah Eggleston. LaRue was a great-grandmother to Lucia Sams. She is survived by two brothers, James & Billie Nell Norman of Houston, Texas, and David Norman of Ft. Worth, Texas, and a sister-in law, Peggy Norman, one brother-in-law Leon and sister-in-law, Cindy Eggleston, and sister-in-law Dorris and brother-in-law, Windle Owens, many nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00p.m.--8:00p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Bill DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, Texas. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., at Lake Dallas Church of Christ, 502 Carlisle Dr, Lake Dallas, Texas, 75065. Minister Richard Perry will be presiding.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas, 75211.
