IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Myron R.
Zisman
November 22, 1933 – November 23, 2024
Myron R. Zisman, MD was born November 22, 1933, to Harry M. and Florence R. Zisman in the Bronx, New York. He died on November 23, 2024, in Denton, Texas.
Myron lived in Manhattan, The Bronx, then Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 1942-46 before spending his formative years in Long Beach, NY and there made lifelong friends whose close friendships have lasted over 70 years.
Myron graduated from Cornell University in 1954 (on the Dean's list several times) and then received his MD degree from SUNY (State University of New York) in 1958. He belonged to several honor societies in high school, Long Beach, NY, and college, Cornell University, Alpha Epsilon Delta honor society. After a one-year internship in Meadowbrook Hospital (Hempstead, NY) where he met and married his first wife, Marthe Trotier, he then entered the United States Air Force as a Captain and was stationed at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire for two years.
Myron became a resident in Orthopedic surgery in Dallas, Texas. He then joined a practice in Orthopedic surgery in Toms River, New Jersey from 1965-1976. Marthe died in 1975, after seventeen years of marriage. He found a second wonderful woman, who could tolerate his idiosyncrasies, in Linda Sobel and they were married on May 28, 1978. He and Linda then moved to Irving, Texas (outside of Dallas) and practiced at The Bone and Joint Clinic on O' Connor Blvd. until its closing and then joined with Dr. Bob Bayless at the Irving Orthopedic Sports and Medicine Clinic on MacArthur Blvd. until his retirement in 2002. Myron and Linda then moved to Robson Ranch in Denton, Texas and enjoyed their retirement years as they quickly flew by with the company of their beloved puppies that they constantly walked around the streets. Among his fondest memories were his lifelong connection with his Canadian extended family, his lifelong friends from Long Beach, and above all, the constant affection and total loyalty of his beloved wife Linda.
Myron is survived by his brother Barry, his treasured wife Linda, and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed terribly.
