Nancy Jean Baker, 84, of Denton, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 in Denton. She was born October 24, 1931 in Allentown, PA to Andrew and Julia Sarvish Kerestine. She married Austin Granville Baker, Jr. on January 16, 1954 in Cleburne, TX. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2011. She was a partner in Austin Baker Industries, Baker Family Partners and Baker Tankhead, Inc. She graduated from U.N.T., was a Cub Scout Leader, enjoyed golf and bowling and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Jeff Poirot officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Baker Stanford-Terrell and husband Jimmy of Argyle; sons, Austin Baker III and wife Sherrie of Denton, Hal Baker and wife Laura of Lake Dallas, and Tom Baker and wife of Barbara of Valley View; 12 grandchildren, Aaron Baker, Abel Baker, Katie Warrick, Halie Thornton, Abbie Baker, Katie Taylor, Nancy Stanford, Hannah Stanford, Max Baker, Taryn Baker, Gretchen Baker and Bridget Baker; and 4 great grandchildren, Harper Warrick, Penelope Warrick, Addison Thornton and Caden Thornton. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, husband, Austin Baker, Jr. and beloved grandson, Austin Baker IV.
Memorials may be made to North Texas Spina Bifida Association or Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, Mom requested to please not vote for Hillary Clinton.
