Nancy Lou Rushing "Tootie", 71, of Valley View, Texas passed away on July 6, 2023, in
Valley View. She was born in Vicco, Kentucky on April 23, 1952, to Bill Sumner and Lena
Smith Sumner.
Our beloved Mother, MeeMee, Sister and Friend.
Tootie's family was most important to her, she enjoyed cooking, scratch offs, visiting
the casino and playing solitaire on her phone. But what she enjoyed most was spending
time with her grandkids playing board games and dancing in the kitchen.
She is survived by her son Jerry Clark ll of Valley View, TX, daughter Alaina and Jon
Dugger of Gainesville, TX, sister Shirley and Bobby Stringfellow of Hawkins, TX, sister
Mary Ann Roark of Ada, OK, sister Pamela Clark of Boliver, TX, brother William and
Terrie Sumner of Gainesville, TX, three grandchildren, Shelbee, Hailee, and Journe and
four great-grandchildren, Dallas, Cason, Jacelynn, and Haelynn and bonus son Billy Clark
and two dogs Ritz and Puppy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter LaDonna Clark, and her
brother Raymond Sumner.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the DeBerry Funeral Home from 1:00
to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at the DeBerry Funeral Home on Monday,
July 10, 2023 starting at 10:00 AM. Internment will take place at Valley View Cemetery
following the service.
