Nancy Marie Tunnell 79 of Denton passed away July 8 ^th , 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sherman Texas on October 24, 1940 after her mother, Mary Helen Kaplan Holland and father, Leslie Holland, were rushed to the hospital from the Holland family farm.

Nancy married Ralph Tunnell on December 29, 1962 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. L.L. Armstrong officiating. She retired from the Denton Office of the Social Security Administration where she was a Claims Administrator.

Nancy taught the 6yr old Sunday School for decades and was a substitute teacher for Denton ISD for many years after she retired from Federal service.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton with VNA Chaplain Jerald Garner officiating.

Nancy is survived by her husband Ralph Tunnell of Denton, daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Norris and husband Ronnie of Garland, son, Robert Tunnell of Denton, sister, Mary Elizabeth Higgins of Plano, grandchildren, Barrett Norris, Gavynn Norris and wife Deanna, and Shannon Mason, 2 Cousins.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Jennifer Mason.
