Nellie Ellen Swinford, 89 of Denton, passed away April 12, 2020 at the Grace Care Center in Henrietta, Texas.  She was born May 8, 1930 in Quinlan, Texas to William Oscar Vann and Cleo Bell (Ketner) Vann.  She married James Ray Swinford on May 9, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas.  Nellie was a retired Administrative Secretary.

Graveside Services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, April 20, 2020 at 10:30 AM.

Nellie was survived by several siblings: Nora Vann Lewis, David 'Dee' Vann, Coman Vann, Earnest Vann, and Hazel Sue Vann Sizemore, granddaughter, Rebecca Hendricks and husband Clint, grandson, Jeremy Swinford, 3 great grandchildren Audrey, Emily and Abigail.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Ray, son James Barry and daughter Linda Ray, and siblings: Wesley Vann Sr., James Vann, L.O. Vann , Alvin Vann, Bonnie Vann Turner.
