IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Neta Ann
Griffin
October 18, 1948 – June 3, 2025
Neta Ann Griffin, lovingly known by many names-"Neta" to her husband, 'Grandma to her grandchildren, "Grady" to her great-grandchild, and "Sissy" to her nieces- passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on October 18,1948, in Santa Anna, Texas, Neta was raised with a strong work ethic and a sharp spirit. Her first job was helping on the family farm, where she learned the value of hard work, and perhaps more importantly, the value of doing things her own way. Throughout her life, she carried those lessons with grit and determination. She was a devoted wife to Bill Griffin and a loving mother to Christie Zuniga, Jody Byerly, Bryan Griffin, and Christina Pulley. She was also a proud grandmother to Meagan, Elena, Anna, Bryan Jr., Ethan, Riley, Hunter, Laney, and many more beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Later in life, Neta loved driving her special needs school bus and cherished the children she transported each day- they brought joy and meaning to her life, and she adored them in return. Though fiercely independent, Neta always made time to support her grandsons- attending every football game she could or watching proudly from home when needed. She would enjoy having her grandchildren with her at home for the summers.
A true love of life's little pleasures, Neta kept a standing date with her friends for weekly brunches- a tradition she enjoyed for years long after retirement. Those brunches, full of laughter and conversation.
Neta will be remembered for her sassy spirit, strong opinions, and sharp wit. She often joked, "I'm getting older and funnier,"- and she certainly was. Holidays weren't complete without her signature call of "It's chow time" as everyone gathered to eat. Though she lived life very much on her own terms, she cared deeply for her family- always ready to show up in her own way, on her own time. Her routines, her humor, her style, and her fierce independence will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Neta leaves behind a life well-lived and a spirit that will continue to inspire smiles for years to come.
Though we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by the light and love of her Heavenly Father. Her laughter, strength, and sass will live on in our hearts until we meet again.
