Nicholas Martin Leyva passed away in Palo Alto, CA on June 22, 2023. Nick was born in Denton, Texas on May 31, 1990 to Arturo Leyva and Magdalena Gimenez. Nick enjoyed biking, cooking, being a food connoisseur, playing music, hanging out at the lake, skateboarding, playing golf, and making his friends laugh. He was a light to everyone around him.

He attended school in Denton, Texas and graduated from Billy Ryan High School in 2008. Immediately after, he pursued a cooking career in Austin, Brooklyn, Virginia, and Oakland. He was most recently employed by Tacos Oscar in Oakland, California. In addition to his passion for cooking, he was also musically gifted and could play just about any instrument he picked up.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mario & Maria Leyva and Pauline Gimenez.

Nicholas is survived by his parents Tudy Leyva of Krum & Magdalena Gimenez of Denton, Grandfather Benjamin Gimenez, Jr of Sanger, his brother, Rooster Leyva & Tessa of Krum, Sister Jacqui Tuley & husband Marc of Decatur, Brother Julian Leyva of Harlingen, TX, nephew Bodie Cruz Tuley and niece, Lena Blue Tuley, his girlfriend Erica Valencia of Oakland, CA, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 5PM to 7PM. Funeral services will also be held at DeBerry's at 2PM, Saturday, July 1, 2023.
