Nona Mavis Harpole Selby, 92, of Denton, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. She was born on June 17, 1922 in Argyle to Silas Benton Harpole and Nora Mae Price Harpole. She married Charles F. Selby in Denton on May 6, 1939 and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. Before retirement, she was the owner and director of Selby's Child Care Center.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 10:00 am at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Mavis is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Gayla Barrow and husband Jim, and Eva Norris and husband Howard; 7 grandchildren, Justin Barrow, Nick Norris, Danny Sinkler, Jeff Sinkler, Bonnie Norris, Robyn Darley, and Janet Shields; 4 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Carol Sinkler; sister, Ruby Watson; and brothers, James Harpole, Buster Harpole, and John Harpole.
