Norman Wayne "Skeeter" Lowrie, 81, of Denton passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in Denton. He was born September 4, 1933 in Nocona, Texas to Clarence Lowrie and Viola Georgia Haney Lowrie. His stepfather was Joe E. Edwards. He married Greta Katherine Martin on January 26, 1955 in Denton. He served in the U.S. Navy. He pastored in Denton, Weatherford, White Settlement, Paris and Ponca City, OK. He was the founder of GRACE Ministries and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Flower Mound.
Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Brad Lowrie, Bill Hardin and Richard Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Martin Lowrie, Michael Lowrie, Kenneth Lowrie, Bobby Russell, Michael Gilpin, Heath Lowrie, Austin Lowrie and honorary pallbearer, Blake Alling.
He is survived by his wife, Greta of Denton; daughter, Kathy Russell and husband Bobby of Ponca City, OK; sons, Martin Lowrie and wife Glenda of Ponca City, OK, Kenneth Lowrie and wife Billie of Denton, Michael Lowrie and wife Ronda of Piedmont, OK, Brad Lowrie and wife Connie of Edmond, OK; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The family wants to give a special thanks to Solaris Hospice. They also asked that donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church in Flower Mound.
