Norris Bennett Gunn, 86, of Denton, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in Denton.  He was born on December 29, 1932 in Paris, Texas to Frank and Willie Gunn.

Norris married the late Shirley Holland (Gunn) in Clayton, New Mexico on September 8, 1951.

They went on to live in Dalhart, Plainview, Austin, Brownfield, and retired together to live at Lake Brownwood in 1997.  Through 60 years of marriage, good times and tough alike, they were best friends.  They worked together, traveled together, and laughed together often.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jesse Gunn and his wife.

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Tulane Hix (Jerry) of Hickory Creek, Texas; Gay Strategier (Phil) of Norman, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Gil Gunn (Melinda) of Piperton, Tennessee; and Toby Gunn of Stony Point, New York;  11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Margie Brookmole of Dumas, Texas.

Family visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2019 at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
