Norris Gene Misemer, 71 of Pilot Point, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Pilot Point, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Norris was born on July 10, 1946 in Lamar, MO. to Calvin Eugene and Erma Mae (Elrod) Misemer. Norris married the love of his life Susanne Kay Chadwick on December 22, 1967 in Shawnee, KS.
Norris was a successful business owner over the last 50+ years: Sport Marine Technologies, Inc and Collectors' Showplace, Inc. Always the independent, never working for anyone but himself, he built and ran these businesses up until his passing.
He loved to travel and collect artwork. He was avid in photography, carefully documenting all of his worldwide travels and grandchildren's sporting events and accomplishments.
Norris accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of sixteen. One of his favorite Bible verses was Romans 1:16: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." His family takes great comfort knowing that he is home with the Lord.
He was a devoted, loving husband of 50 years, wonderful father and grandfather. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Norris is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susanne Kay of Pilot Point, TX, daughter, Kimberly Castles and husband Cris of Denton, TX, son, John Misemer and wife Jennifer of Oak Leaf, TX, sister, Joyce (Misemer) Terrill and husband Rick of Auburn, KS, brothers, Kent Misemer and wife Cathy of Leawood, KS, Rick Misemer and wife Connie of Olathe, KS, six grandchildren, Benjamin, Cristina, Jonathan and Joshua Castles, Sophia and Jake Misemer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Erma, and grandson, Samuel Stone Misemer.
Family will receive friends one hour before funeral services at Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas at 9:00 A.M. Monday, February 26, 2018, funeral services will began at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Tom Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
