Orie Acree Davis, 95, of Ft. Worth passed away on July 6, 2019 in Ft. Worth. She was born on June 29, 1924 in Point, Louisiana to Wess and Tina (Carter) Acree.

Her father took her out of school in the 5th grade, under Orie's protest so she could help her mother at home. Orie later obtained her G.E.D. through a correspondence course. As a result, she was a life long student, wanting to know everything. She loved to read and gain knowledge.

She married Raymond A. Davis in Wilmont, Arkansas in November of 1962, they had one child, Ray Davis. She worked as a seamstress from home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to help support the family. The family later moved back to Corsicana, Texas where most of her family was.

She is survived by her son, Ray Davis and wife, Lannette of Roanoke, Tx., her grandson Jerad and granddaughter Katelyn, and many, many, many nieces and nephews and their children.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her siblings, Mattie Hicks, May Ousley, Ona House, Arnold Acree and William Acree and her mother and father.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Hamilton Beeman Cemetery in Retreat, Texas.In liue of flower please make donations to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County in her honor.
