Orric Freeman (91) passed peacefully at his home in Flower Mound, Texas on February 21st, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife Carole and four children. He was born in Center, Texas on November 16, 1930. He was the youngest child of Mattie Belle and Forrest Jay Freeman. He was preceded in death by his brother Forrest Jack Freeman and his sister Patsy Ruth Costello.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carole Curtis Freeman, three sons, Curtis Wynn Freeman and wife Debra of Durham, North Carolina; Forrest Craig Freeman and wife Carla of Elk Grove, California; Matthew Orric Freeman and wife Chris of Austin, Texas; one daughter Julie Freeman Biles and husband Ray of Lorena, Texas; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Orric graduated from Longview High School in 1948 in Longview, Texas and went on to Kilgore Community College in Kilgore, Texas eventually graduating in 1952 from North Texas State College in Denton, Texas with a degree in Business Administration.
After graduation from college, Orric served in the US Army during the Korean War. He returned to Denton to begin his career in the insurance industry and helped build Curtis-Freeman Insurance with Ann Curtis, his mother in law. He pursued various business endeavors, including real estate, construction, and oil and gas. Orric was actively engaged in community service, including leadership roles with Denton County National Bank, Denton Kiwanis Club, Boys Baseball in Denton and Denton County United Way. He was recognized as the Outstanding Young Man of the Year by Junior Chamber of Commerce and served as the State President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas.
Orric and Carole met in 1951 on the campus of North Texas State College, marrying on June 6, 1953 at the Little Chapel in the Woods on the campus of Texas Women's University. Orric was a member of First Baptist Church of Denton, where he served as a deacon. He trusted in the good news of Jesus Christ and was passionately involved with recovery groups as a faithful friend of Bill Wilson for 40 years.

Memorial Services to be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022 at the home of Alan and Linda Chamberlain located at 3900 Roselawn Drive approximately 1/4 mile west of the Roselawn Memorial Park on the north side of the road. There will be tables and chairs set up for a celebratory gathering.
