Oscar A. Eslava

Oscar A. Eslava, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, in Denton, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on October 23, 1936, in the vibrant city of Piura, Peru, Oscar was a symbol of warmth and kindness that touched the lives of everyone around him. He served in the Cavalry in Peru during his early adulthood. He later worked for the American Embassy in Peru for 27 years and went on to serve Leander Independent School District for 12 years.

As we gather to celebrate Oscar’s remarkable life, we will honor his memory through a series of heartfelt services. A visitation will take place on January 3, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Friends and family will come together to remember Oscar and the indelible mark he left on their hearts. He will then be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park, with the burial beginning at 12:30 PM.

Oscar A. Eslava was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, we take solace in the memories we shared and the lessons he imparted—a testament to a life well-lived and loved. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria and 5 children, Oscar Eslava (Gisella Tomassini), Liliana McManus (John McManus), Gustavo Eslava, Tatiana Hursh-Eslava (Karl Hursh), and Ulises Eslava (Zuleika Leon). He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
