Obituary

Otis Lynn Taylor, 62, of Corinth passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. He was born April 2, 1950 in Denton, Texas to Foy Franklin Taylor and Lula Mae Raymond Taylor.

Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Corinth. Pallbearers will be Annmarie Fleming, Bill Crawford, Ed Rodela, Gus Wittschack, Joe Sallee, Larry Martin, Roy Ralston, and Tim Sepulvado.

Survivors include his children, Leigh Ann Taylor and James Otis Taylor of Corinth; mother and grandmother of their children, Donna Taylor; grandchildren, Tristan Foy Taylor, Shelby Lee Higginbotham, and Brooklyn Raye Taylor; his father, Foy Franklin Taylor; brothers, Rickie Wayne Taylor and Boyd Franklin Taylor, all of Corinth. Also, Annmarie Fleming, his best friend and caregiver.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lula Mae Taylor and brother, Cary Ray Taylor.

Otis was a Marine and served in the 3rd BN, 3rd Marine Core during the Vietnam War. He earned two Purple Hearts, Vietnam Service Ribbon, and the National Defense Ribbon. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America and Disabled American Veterans.

He loved riding his Harley and took many long rides including one to the Sturgis, South Dakota Rally. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt.
