IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Kay
Andrews
September 7, 1948 – March 8, 2025
Pamela Kay Andrews, 76, of Lewisville, passed peacefully into Glory, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Elbert Andrews for 55 years. Pamela was born in North Webster, Indiana and was the third daughter of Harold and Lois Swenson. Pamela lived on the family farm in Indiana till she was almost 4, then moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1951. She was raised at and helped at her family's Happytime Nursery and Kindergarten, until she was a teenager. She attended Tucson High School for 1 year and then 3 years at Rincon High School. She played the cello in both school's orchestras and was the librarian her senior year. Pamela was a member of the Tucson Youth Orchestra for several years. She also joined Job's Daughters and was active for many years. She attended the University of Arizona and Tucson School of Cosmetology. She never worked at a salon, but did anyone's hair she could get her hands on- and beautifully so.
Pamela met the love of her life when she went to work at Furr's Cafeteria, on Speedway in Tucson. He was the son of her new boss! They were married in Tucson and spent their honeymoon driving to Albuquerque, NM, where Elbert was going to continue working for Furr's. They lived in Albuquerque for a few years and all three of their children were born there. Pamela was very involved at her church and raised their children in church, they were there every time the doors were open! They moved back to Tucson, then to Glendale, AZ, then back to Tucson. The life of a wife of a Furr's Manager was not easy. Moving, packing, unpacking, getting kids in schools, changing schools. But they always found a church to belong to and get involved in! Women's Bible Study, prayer groups, her children's classes and activities, and mostly by herself as Elbert had long hours and little time off at work. Pamela was always crafting, sewing clothes, sewing for weddings and ballet dancers. When her kids were finally all in school, she went to work at Sears Teleparts and Dal-Tile.
Her children were also very involved in church carrying on as they were taught and even going into Missions work. Pamela prayed and prayed for them and always supported whatever they did. They made one final move this time to Texas and started a new life. She supported Elbert and Brad and Blake as they began several businesses- and the family began to grow. Three grandchildren were added, then Blake married Karla and two more grandchildren were added. She and Elbert traveled to Costa Rica to support their ministry. When Rebecca married Bill Armbruester, a new chapter...empty house began.
All during this time, Pamela was able to spend many happy hours with her three sisters, and they had a few sister reunions!
Then a big change happened. Pamela suffered a stroke in 2002. This was just the beginning of her long road of health issues. But most amazing of all, she never lost her spirit and joy. She was a blessing to everyone she met, telling them she would pray for them. Pamela and Elbert served as greeters at Blake and Karla's church, giving her awesome hugs and smiles to everyone coming in. Rebecca and Bill added two grandsons to their clan and then Brad added another grandson .Pamela suffered through too many health and body issues to imagine, but she never wavered in her faith in the Lord and her husband has stood beside her and cared for her through it all. Pamela and Elbert were able to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a beautiful vowel renewal. She has been blessed with 4 great grandchildren and enjoyed anytime they would come to see her. Finally, she decided it was time to go home, she has run her race, did her best, put love and joy in everything she did and prayed for all she said she would. She is so proud of her family and all they have accomplished. She is at peace with her Lord and ready for her rest!
Pamela is survived by her husband, Elbert, her 3 children Bradley Andrews, Blake Andrews (wife, Karla), and Rebecca Armbruester (husband, Bill) all of the Dallas, TX area.
Proud grandmother of 8 : Kayla, Will, Dominic, Kristen (husband, Dylan), Destiny (husband, Landon), Ryan, Jeremiah, Ethan. She was especially proud of her 4 precious great grandchildren.... Briar, Everett, Beckett, and Remington. She also leaves behind her last sister Vickie (husband, Robert) and many family members and friends.
