Pamela Lavern Winstead, 75 of Van Alstyne, passed away at home on July 15, 2025. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Leola (Barrett) Hill and Gerald Hill on June 7, 1950.
She was a receptionist for Unitrin for over 20 years, until her retirement from the company.
Pamela always liked to have a good time. She enjoyed bowling, listening to a wide array of music, playing cards and board games, watching movies and travelling. Pamela was also an avid collector of all things Elvis Presley and Betty Boop. Time spent with her children and grandchildren were also among her favorite things.
She married James Everette Winstead and they were married for more than 20 years until his passing in November 2007.
Pamela is survived by two sons, Darrin Dennington and Adam Dennington; step-sons, Dwayne Winstead and Derrick Winstead; sister, Geraldine Hill; grandchildren, Emily Winstead, Krystal Bell, Joshua Fortner, Kade Dennington, and Aiden Dennington.
She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband, James Winstead; two brothers Tommy Hill and Robert Hill; niece Priscilla Watson and grandson Daniel Winstead.
Pamela's funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Monday, July 28, 2025, at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
She will laid to rest with her husband, James Winstead, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, at a later date.
