Patricia Darlene Downey, 63 of Denton passed away on May 13, 2017 in Denton , Texas . She was born in Ft. Worth , Texas to Laverne and Mary Ellen ( Arnold ) Bynum. She will be laid to rest beside her husband John Downey and her granddaughter Angela.

Patty was a fighter, a strong willed woman who was a powerful pray warrior for her family and friends. Her smile was contagious, and was excited to have company. She was generous and fun loving but often unpredictable and always caring. She will be missed by all.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Joann Mims and husband,  Antonio Wayne of Denton, sisters; Dorothy Squires of Denton, Joann Ferguson of Cleburne, Texas, Debbie Bishop of Denton and Annie Crutcher of Nevada, Texas, brothers; Billy Bynum of Granbury and Bobby Bynum of Ft. Worth.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 6-8 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton . Funeral services will be held in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Wednesday, May 17 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Denton , Texas .
