Born Patricia Ann Brockmiller on February 9, 1939, to Ernest & Katherine Brockmiller in St. Louis, Missouri. She was raised in Carlinville, Illinois with her older brother & younger sister. She graduated from Carlinville High School in 1958. She was married to the love of her life, Jerald Hays, on Saturday, September 11, 1965, at Zion Lutheran Church. In 1966, they had their first daughter, Sherry, followed by their son Jeffrey in 1968, & in 1970 their youngest daughter Jennifer. Patricia worked as an LPN but later decided to be a stay-at-home mom. Patricia & Jerald raised their family in Virden, Illinois until 1985 when they relocated to Denton, Texas. 

Patricia was known as Pat by her friends & lovingly known as Nana by her granddaughters & great-grandchild. Pat was never without her hair styled, her make up done, & true to who she was, she was never without her iconic pink lipstick. She loved Hallmark movies, Christmas villages, nativity sets & traveling. From Thanksgiving through Christmas, Pat was known for making her famous cinnamon rolls for friends & family. 

Pat is survived by her beloved husband, Jerald Hays; her children, Sherry Hays & Jeff Hays (Amanda); her grandchildren, Amber Hays-Bermea (Arturo) & Danielle Knight (Bradley); her great-granddaughter, Alexa; her sister, Joyce Featherstone; extended family & a host of friends. 

Pat was preceded in death by her father & mother; her brother, Ernest, Jr.; & her daughter, Jennifer. 

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors.

Pat will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton immediately following the funeral service.
