IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patsy Ann
Franklin
January 27, 1932 – May 11, 2024
Pat passed away peacefully at home in Denton, Texas, surrounded by her loving family on May 11, 2024. Born in Stoutland, Missouri on January 27, 1932, to Clifford and Opal Pearcy, Pat graduated from Stoutland High School in 1949 and married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Lieutenant General Charles D. Franklin on May 29, 1949.
Pat was known for her radiant personality and devotion to her family. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her constant smile. She lived her life with grace, compassion and inner strength, and was the cornerstone of support for her family. Pat was the consummate Army wife throughout her husband's 35-year career, sustaining Charles through multiple worldwide deployments, field exercises, and tours of combat with devotion, strength and self-sufficient independence. Charles credited her for his rise through the ranks of the Army from junior officer to three-star general.
As she transitioned with Charles through various military assignments she worked as a bank teller, office manager, and ultimately on the Board of The Franklin Group, a government affairs consulting firm she established with Charles, guiding organizations of all sizes through the congressional legislative process, the Department of Defense, and civilian federal agencies. Pat also worked diligently to support the families of the military soldiers serving under her husband's command, with Meals on Wheels, and as a Red Cross volunteer.
Pat was pre-deceased by her husband on March 16, 1992. She is survived by three children, Charles Franklin (Margaret) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Deborah Coe (Phil) of Haymarket, Virginia, and Susan Supak (Darrell) of Denton, Texas, eight grandchildren (Amy, Casey, Mandy, Greg, Susan, Carlos, Kari, and Brandon), ten great-grandchildren, her brother, J.L. Pearcy, and his children Jill and Jay Pearcy and families.
Pat will be interred with her husband, LTG Charles D. Franklin, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Arrangements to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans in memory of Patsy Ann Franklin at DAV.ORG.
