Pat Kerby of Sanger passed away on September 2, 2023 at the age of 83.  She was the daughter of Homer and Pernie Miller and was born on August 22, 1940 in Plainview, Texas.

Pat graduated in the class of 1958 from Sanger and attended TWU in Denton.  On June 14, 1958, she married Frank Kerby of Sanger where they made their home and were married for 48 years before his passing in 2006.

Pat was credit manager for Russell's department store for 27 years in Denton and after the store closed, she worked at FEMA until her retirement.

Pat was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sanger.  She taught a children's Sunday school class for over 25 years, and served as Chairman of the Board and Church Treasurer.  She was a member of the United Methodist Women serving as president.

Pat was band Booster president for the Sanger High School band, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include D'Lene Kerby Anthony, husband Criag of Keller, Linda Kerby Carlson of Sanger, Sharon Kerby Overall, husband Kerry of Plano and Phyllis Kerby Barren and husband James of North Richland Hills: 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 am. Monday, September 11, at the First United Methodist in Sanger, 115 N. 5th St.  Burial will follow in Sanger Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, September 10 at DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Drive in Denton.
