Patty Anne Lockridge, born on March 24, 1943, lived a life defined by love, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to her family, the outdoors, and the animals she cherished. She passed away leaving behind a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Born to Barrett and Alberta Hamlett of Denton, Texas, Patty grew up with an appreciation for the beauty of nature. She found joy in the outdoors, where she felt most at peace. Whether tending to animals, enjoying the fresh air, or simply taking in the beauty of God’s creation, she was happiest surrounded by nature. Patty had an extraordinary gift with animals. They seemed to trust her instinctively, and she had a special way of making even the most timid creature feel safe. Her compassion for animals reflected the kindness and gentleness that defined her spirit.
Above all else, Patty was a devoted mother. She was the proud mother of fourteen children, whom she often said were her greatest accomplishment. She poured her heart into raising her family and took immense pride in watching it grow through the generations. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was immeasurable.
Patty was also a gifted storyteller. She never met a stranger and was always happy to share stories from her life with anyone willing to listen. Her memories, humor, wisdom, and experiences brought laughter, comfort, and lessons to those around her. Through her stories, she preserved her family’s history and created lasting memories that will be treasured for years to come.
She is survived by her loving brother, John Hamlett; her children: John Lockridge and his wife, Teresa; William Mack Lockridge; Penny Bruce and her husband, William; Page Youngblood; Pam Wise and her husband, Butch; James Lockridge and his wife, Tisha; Joe Lockridge; Philippa Machalicek and her husband, Joel; Pandy Turner; Prissy Heckart and her husband, John; Patty Amanda Lockridge; Piper Haywood and her husband, Lee; Pepper Lockridge; and Jeffrey Lockridge. She also leaves behind 30 beloved grandchildren and 11 cherished great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of great pride and joy.
Patty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Lockridge; her precious grandson, Little Lee Haywood; and her parents, Barrett and Alberta Hamlett of Denton, Texas.
Patty’s life was a testament to unconditional love, perseverance, and compassion. She found happiness in the simple things—her family, the outdoors, the companionship of animals, and sharing stories that made people smile. Her legacy will continue in the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely.
Although she will be deeply missed, those who loved her find comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in every act of kindness toward an animal, every family story shared around the table, every peaceful moment spent in nature, and in the hearts of the many lives she touched.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts.
