Paul Lyndon Scott, 58 of Aubrey, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013. He was born on June 24, 1955 in Gainesville, Texas to J. Norris Scott and Joyce Morrison Scott. He married Darla Doty in Gainesville on August 2, 1980. He graduated from Gainesville High School and from the University of North Texas. He was a retried Investigator for the Denton County Sheriff's Department.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Denton with Rev. Brad Cockrell officiating. Burial will be at Marysville Cemetery in Marysville, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Brian Shaw, Nelson Shaw, Clayton Love, Robert Doty, Mike Amerman, and Kevin Wright. Honorary pallbearers are James Smith and Mike Johnson.

Paul is survived by his wife, Darla Scott; daughter, Haley Anne Scott; sister, Dana Johnson and husband Mike; and in-laws, Jeanette Doty, Bob and Donna Doty. He is preceded in death by his parents.
