Pauline (Polly) Riefler was born on June 22, 1928, in Saint Jo, Texas to Claude E. Brown and W. Grace Hughes Brown. She passed on January 1, 2014 in Denton, Texas. She married Gus W. Riefler, Jr. on September 1, 1956 in Rockwall, Texas, attended school in Saint Jo and Gainesville, Texas, and Brantly Draughn Business College in Dallas, Texas.
Employed at Kodak Processing Lab in Dallas for 18 years, she retired in 1970 to manage her husband's boarding kennels in Grapevine, Texas until 1987 when they retired and moved to Gainesville where she was reunited with some old friends she had known as a young girl. Being an energetic person, Polly was always the first to get up, get dressed, and get going. But she quickly learned to love the quiet life in the rural community. Watching the baby goats romp and play or the hummingbirds flutter around the feeders always delighted her and she finally had time to pursue her passion for crossword puzzles.
