Peggy Jo Earhart, 78, of Denton passed away on April 17, 2016 at home. She was born in Jefferson, Texas on May 14, 1937 to Clarence Doc and Rachel Inez (Jones) Caffey.
A life and career to remember.
Peggy had a great love for her family and friends. She was always willing to help others in anyway. One Strong and Classy Lady!
She had a love for hair as a teen and was a hairstylist for 22 years. She owned her own hair salon in Dallas, TX for 2 years. Before entering the work field she stayed at home with her children. Our family moved to Houston, TX in 1968, she started back to work but in the banking business and administrative work in a hospital. She moved to Midland, TX in 1975 and continued in the banking business for a few years, then she moved into apartment management field. She moved to Denton, TX in 1989 to be closer to family. She continued a few more years in apartment management. Then moved back into the medical field at Medical Laboratories. She then moved onto working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency assisting disaster victims in 1993 until she retired in 2005 in Denton, TX.
She loved to help people in all aspects from church, work, home and family life. She was a member of a few churches over her lifetime and was a member of First Baptist church in Denton. She was member of several school groups with her children, Cub Scout Den Leader, Eastern Star, Sunday school teacher and Country and Dance club member. Peggy loved to dance and learned that from her parents and carried that on through her life. John and Peggy loved to go and cut a rug! She made a full circle back to her roots in the Dallas area were it all began.
She married John Earhart in Denton on June 20, 1992.
She is survived by her husband, John Earhart of Denton, daughters, Angela Morris Cannon of Denton and husband Stephen, and Kathleen Morris Galicia of Krum and husband Joe, and extended family Michael, Tina and Stephen Earhart, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence Doc and Rachel Inez (Jones) Caffey, daughter, Wanda RaNell Morris, sons, Audie Lynn Morris and Howard Keith Morris and brother, Clarence Glenn Caffey and grandson Eric Audie Morris
The family visitation is at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Wednesday April 20, 2016 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
