Obituary

Peggy Ann Moore was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend with a beautiful big heart and witty sense of humor with a contagious laugh. She left this world and gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the age of 85, after renal failure in Denton, Texas.

Peggy was born in Fabens, Texas to James Grover and Minnie Mae Combest on May 18, 1935. After high school, Peggy attended college and met her late husband, Winston Moore, Sr., at church in Port Arthur, Texas where her brother-in-law was a preacher. Together, they had two children, Judy Moore Jones, and Winston Moore, Jr., and opened their home and family to her two nephews and niece, Bill Combest, Jr., Ronnie Combest, and Connie Combest Smith. Together, they all lived in Denton, Texas.

Peggy had a "go-getter" work ethic, and was the original owner of EZ Check convenience stores in Denton, alongside Winston. Peggy enjoyed high fashion and beautiful clothing and worked in her later years at high end couture stores at the Galleria Mall in Dallas. Years after she ventured off to Ventura, California, and continued to do the same where she met her significant other, Ladd. Decades later she moved back to Mineola, Texas, and lived near a beautiful small lake, looking right out her back door. One of favorite things in life was a beautiful lake. After many beautiful years and memories in Mineola, she decided to return back to Denton, and live with her daughter, Judy and her late son-in-law, Bobby Jones. Among all the love she had for her family, she had a very special Parrot named "Jake", that soon became a huge part of her life that she dearly loved. Peggy loved to sew and garden and had a green thumb.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Judy Jones of Denton, son Winston Moore, Jr. of Austin; nephew, Bill Combest, Jr, and niece, Connie and husband Albert Smith; grandchildren, Jacee and husband Cory Kiefer, Crystal and husband Phillip Clark; great grandchildren, Landon Boland, Gracie Clark, Elyssa Clark, Sage Kiefer, and Bree Kiefer; great nieces and nephews, Katie Combest, Kirk Williamson, Jennifer Williamson, and Ryan Williamson. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Ronnie Combest, and great nephew Bill Combest III.

A graveside memorial service will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, in Denton, Texas, on Saturday, May 22nd at 11:00 a.m.
