Percy Perry Woodard, Jr., 81, of Denton, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, in Denton. He was born on March 28, 1933, in Marshall, Texas to Percy Perry Woodard, Sr. and Corinne Pattillo Woodard. He served as a Marine Infantryman during the Korean War and went on to earn his commission as a Marine Artillery officer. He was a graduate of North Texas State University (University of North Texas), where he served on advisory boards to the School of Accounting during the 1970s. He married Virginia Bonham on December 18, 1959 in Denton. He was a CPA, an Assistant Commissioner with the IRS (Audit and Examinations and International) and an international tax consultant for Ernst and Young.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.
Percy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Woodard of Denton; daughters Kirsten Victoria Woodard of Justin, Kristina Louise Woodard and husband Tim Scally of Rhome; son Paul Bonham and wife Beth Woodard of Arlington, and four grandchildren, Lauren Scally of Bridgeport, Luke Scally of Rhome, Bailey Woodard and Riley Woodard of Arlington.
