Phillip David Polley, 65, of Wilburton, OK, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 at St Paul hospital after a long fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born on November 29, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Forrest Robert Polley and Geraldine Mae Grubis Polley. He married Peggy Sue Swafford in Fort Worth on May 26, 1967 and was a joint owner, with his son Robert, of Polleyco Construction Services LLC. He graduated from Ponder High School and attended Cook County Jr. College. He then excelled as a commercial/residential contractor, licensed realtor, licensed insurance salesman, FEMA certified flood plain manager, cadre with the SBA disaster relief team. He was also the former mayor of Krum, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Pastor Don McGee officiating and Larry Tidwell reading the eulogy. Burial will be held at Passage Rock Cemetery in Wilburton, OK.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue; son, Robert Denton Polley and his wife Kristin; two grandsons, Phillip Polley and Gerrit Polley; sister, Kay Lynn Duffy; brother, Billy Polley; his beloved mule June. He is preceded in death by his parents. He has taken a seat at our Fathers table and we shall continue his legacy of making the world a better place with the lessons and wisdom he bestowed on us all.
