Phoebe L. (Shahan) Tarver-Taylor 87, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Denton, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018.  She was born in Denton to James Roy Shahan and Crystal Josephine Lane Shahan.  She attended Denton Teacher College and married Richard L. Tarver on July 8, 1950 in Enid, OK.  He preceded her in death on September 23, 1998.  Phoebe later married Claude Wesley Taylor and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2008.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Denton Historical Society and attended Gateway Baptist Church.  Phoebe retired from the U.S. Civil Service.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday night from 6-8:00 P.M. for visitation.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.  Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Corinth.

She is survived by three daughters, Lynn Murray of Denton, Rebecca Pursur and husband Roy of Holliday, TX., Carolyn Grobe of Parker CO., brother, Howard Wayne Shahan and wife Elinor of Victoria, TX., seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
