Phyllis Ann Giles, 82, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. She was born in Benton, Illinois on February 13, 1937 to Carlton and Ruby Hunt. She was married to the late Charles Giles and enjoyed reading ,travelling, and socializing with friends and family.

Phyllis career was as a teacher. Phyllis  began teaching in a one room school house  in the rural Ozarks of Arkansas in 1962 and concluded her career as a Spanish teacher at Highland Park High School. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Phyllis is survived by her brother, Carl Hunt of Benton Illinois, son and daughter in law, Bradley and Charlotte Giles, grandson, Stephen and his spouse Katie, granddaughter, Sarah Giles , and great grandchild Stephen Henry Giles.

Funeral services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton on Tuesday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at a later date in Illinois.
