Ralph "Dale" Irwin of Denton went to be with the Lord while at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2017, at the age of 77. He was born on October 2, 1939, in Pampa, Texas to Ralph and Nan Ruth (Crough) Irwin. Dale married the love of his life, Charlotte Cole, on April 17, 1962.

Dale graduated from Gruver High School in 1957, and secured his BBA in 1961 from University of North Texas. Mr. Irwin proudly served his country as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. Dale then returned to Denton and founded Irwin Agency, Inc., a life and property insurance business, while, in the evenings, obtaining an MBA in finance. Later in his career, his interests gravitated toward real estate investing. Even though presented with other opportunities outside of Denton, Dale only acquired and developed Denton properties.

Dale is survived by the most wonderful woman he ever knew and wife of 55 years, Charlotte Cole Irwin, two sons, Barry Irwin and wife, Roxanne, and Craig Irwin and wife, Marla. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren: Madelyn Dunnington and husband, Spencer, Cayman, McKinley and Corbin Irwin, Austin and Cullen Anderson, and Cole and Kennedy Irwin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Nan Ruth Irwin.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors for visitation, Thursday, July 20 ^th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 21 ^st in the Chapel of Denton Bible Church, with Senior Pastor Tom Nelson officiating.

Dale bravely battled cancer for many years. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
