IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ranelle Cornelia
Davidson
August 19, 1927 – April 6, 2024
Ranelle Davidson, 96, passed away peacefully April 6, 2024, after a long and blessed life. She has now been reunited with the love of her life, Monroe Davidson and her beloved son, Monroe (Rickey) Davidson in their heavenly home.
Ranelle was born on August 19, 1927, in Denton, Texas, to Alvin Crout & Velma Wingo Crout. Growing up in Denton, she would later graduate from Demonstration School and afterwards attend NTSU (now UNT). It was while Ranelle was attending college that a handsome young man named Ewing Monroe Davidson, Jr. in a '41 Ford convertible caught her eye. Apparently, the combination of the driver & car was enough to convince her to walk down the aisle on January 21, 1949, to join him in marriage. After settling on a farm on the north outskirts of Krum, Texas, the newlyweds spent the beginning of their married life raising crops & livestock. During this time, they also raised a couple of towheaded boys, Monroe and Larry.
Ranelle was a bookkeeper and helped her husband in his feed mill & real estate businesses. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and their pet Pomeranian, Rambo, in their RV after retirement. Annual trips to South Texas for the winter afforded them many lifelong friends. Previous trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda, Canada, & Alaska left the pair with fond memories & many stories that they often shared. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and caring for her pets until her health no longer allowed. Her last years were spent watching "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" each night. Sundays weren't Sundays without watching Joel Osteen and Dr. David Jeremiah. After her eyesight failed her, Danielle Steele audio books were her main source of entertainment.
Ranelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her oldest son, and her only sister, Jane Crout.
She is survived by her son, Larry Davidson & wife, Anne of Justin, Texas, two granddaughters, Ginger Garcia of Coppell, Texas, and Amber Frazee & husband, Steve of Dallas, Texas, and two great grandsons, Sebastian & Joaquin Garcia of Coppell, Texas.
In her final years, Ranelle counted her caretakers from Visiting Angels and Meals on Wheels as some of her most precious friends and including, of course, Lynn Rexroat. She also greatly appreciated the staff from the Visiting Nurse Association who gave such attentive hospice care.
Ranelle's remains will be interred at Roselawn Cemetery in Denton, Texas with DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton handling the arrangements. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Ranelle's name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation , Linda McNatt Animal Care in Denton , Visiting Nurse Association , or a charity of your choice.
