Obituary

Raymond Stewart, 81, of Frisco, Texas passed away on July 20, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 26, 1942, to Raymond and Mollie Stewart.

Raymond was born to protect, to provide and to serve. He did so in the U.S. Army as a Sharpshooter. After escaping capture in Vietnam, he returned home to continue saving lives. He loved his movies and always talked right through them. He made himself and others laugh with his endless stories. And in his years as a truck driver, served as a Knight of our roads. He transferred his life skills, teaching the kids to drive, shoot and stand up for themselves. He told anyone and everyone how proud he was of them. He made sure Yvonne felt safe in their 34 years of marriage. He loved fried chicken, peach-apple cobbler and the COPS TV show. His laugh echoes still in our hearts. He was a proud member of The American Legion, Frisco, Post 178. And of his 14 years on dialysis, spent 5 at Fresenius Kidney Care in Frisco.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Allen-Stewart of Frisco, Texas, daughters, Natasha Stewart of Chicago, Illinois, Juanyce Wilson and husband Raymond, of Glen Heights, Texas, Nathania Stewart Dyer and her husband, Michael of Australia and his only son, Thomas Allen. He leaves behind five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, niece Louise "Weezey" Stewart, 3 great nephews: William, Warren & Lester and 6 great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his sisters, Greta Stewart and Betty Stewart.

A Military Committal Service will be held at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
