Richard E. Aikin, 82, of Denton, passed away on December 31, 2018 in Denton. He was born on April 13, 1936 to William and Gertrude (Hyland) Aikin in Buffalo, New York.

Richard was a longtime and dedicated employee of Exxon with over 30 years of service. Dick was part of the team at Exxon that developed Hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking" and received a patent for part of the process. Dick loved music, particularly enjoyed playing the piano and loved dancing.

Richard was lovingly known to his family as "Uncle Dick". He is survived by his sister, Patricia Brosius of Alabama and several nieces and nephews. ".

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Robert Aikin.

Richard will be interred at Resthaven Cemetery in North Tonawanda, New York at a later date. No other service information has been planned at this time.
