Richard Leslie Brown, known to family and friends as "Dick" 75, of Krum passed away at his home on June 8, 2021. He was born in Vernon, Texas to Weiland and Earlene (Bell) Brown on November 5, 1945.
After graduating from Big Spring High School in 1964, Dick married the love of his life Linda "Kay" in March of 1967 and joined the Army later that year. Dick was stationed in Germany and remained there for the entirety of his military service and the birth of his son, Richard in 1969. After returning to Texas, Dick graduated from North Texas State University in 1972 and later that year he and Kay had their daughter Jennifer.
Dick spent his early years working for Ford Motor Credit and from there he remained in finance working for Huffines Chevrolet until he retired in 2002. Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a dear friend to many. Dick never met a stranger. He could talk for hours with people he met in line at the grocery store or reminisce with returning customers that he sold a car to ten years ago. Whether you knew him in business or in his personal life you knew that Dick loved spending time with his family and you know that he was so proud of his family. He especially loved spending time with and getting to know his grandkids Gage, Emily and Hannah.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Brown of Krum, Texas, son, Richard Brown and Mary Overstreet of Aledo, Texas daughter, Jennifer Blum and husband Brandon of Krum, brother, Dan Brown and wife Mary Lou of Boerne, Texas, three grandchildren, Gage Randall, Emily Brown, and Hannah Brown-Blum and one great-grandchild, Cordelia Randall.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 2-4 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas
