SSG Retired Richard A. Chenault, 77, of Denton, TX passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. He was born in Fort Worth, TX on June 7, 1945, to Allen Chenault and Julia Mary Naylor Chenault.
Richard was a 20-year Retired Veteran of the 249 th Signal Battalion of the US Army. He was also retired from Trinity Industries as a welder as well as being retired from Safran Labinal as a P.A.
Richard attended Trimble Tech High School and DeVry Institute in Irving, Texas.
Richard's life was all about family. He coached his boys in their baseball and soccer for many years. He supported whatever their interest many have been at the time whether it was Rodeo, Fishing, Hunting, Choir, or Football.
Richard Married Sherry Wright on February 9, 1970. He is survived by his wife, children Mike (Liz), Brad (Mary), Justin Chenault, grandchildren, Riley Chenault (Amanda), Taylor Feich (Wesley), Kynzie Minnis, great grandbabies Abigail and Emerson Chenault, sister Patsy Underwood of Lakeway, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. We would also like to add a special family friend, Justin Way, and his family. We will always be grateful to Justin Way for holding Richard's hands and his prayers while being there in our time of need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter Emery Rose Chenault and brother Robert Chenault.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022, form 2:00 to 4:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, TX. A funeral service will take place also at the DeBerry Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
