Richard Lee Worster's Obituary

Richard Lee Worster, age 74, of Aubrey passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Dallas, Texas after a lengthy battle with kidney and bladder cancer.  He was born December 25, 1945 in Keokuk, Iowa to Hugh Thomas and Inez Mae (Inman) Worster. Richard joined the United States Marine Corps at the young age of 17 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

Richard married Virginia Davis on May 7, 1983 in Odessa, Texas.  They were members of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church of Denton.  Richard spent the first part of his civilian career as a general contractor. He later purchased a recycling business in Lewisville where his customers and employees became family. Richard retired from Almetco Recycling in December of 2007 to enjoy the retired life, travel and spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Richard never met a stranger and wanted nothing more than to make everyone he came in contact with laugh or smile. He was a selfless, loving man who loved the Lord, served his country proudly, always had great stories and jokes, worked hard, and loved his family. If you knew Richard, you were family. There was love in his heart for everyone and everything. Richard truly was an angel on Earth.

Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughters: Tina Patterson of Big Spring, Karen Quiroz, and Rachael Worster of Aubrey; sons: Christopher Worster and wife Jennifer of Lewisville and Tracy Worster of Sachse;  Son-in-Laws: Ron Patterson and Jorge Quiroz; son at heart, Anthony "AJ" Davis and wife Anne; sisters: Ruth Veach and Dorothy Cunningham; grandchildren: Jon, Rhea and husband Drew, Eric, Raylynn, Seth, Katie, Ryan and wife Tristen, Aurora, Byron, Elizabeth; great grandchildren: Kinley, Ryker, Greyson; his "boys": Chris("Kringle"), Ryon ("Bop"), Will, Justin ("J-Money"), and Mike ("Nafe"); and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Thomas Worster and Inez Mae Worster; son, Richard Anthony Worster; brothers: William E. Worster Sr., Robert E. Worster, and Paul Dean Worster; and "his boy" Jeffery ("Tweeter") Sawyer.

The family will have a viewing on Friday, May 8th, 2020 at the Amazing Grace Baptist Church of Denton from 10:00 a.m. until noon.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Glen Fogg officiating and Julia Way delivering the music.
