Rickey Brooks

Rickey Glenn Brooks, 75, of Rockwall, Texas, formerly of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on January 27, 1951, grew up in Denton, Texas, and graduated from Denton High School in 1970.

Rickey went on to become an electrician and was the proud owner of Star B Electric, LLC, in Lewisville, Texas. He had a lifelong love for classic cars and enjoyed watching baseball and football. A talented country and western dancer, Rickey never missed an opportunity to enjoy good music and good company.

Rickey had an amazing personality and a smile that touched everyone he met. His genuine character and warmth gave him a truly one-of-a-kind presence. He was a devoted father and was blessed with a full and meaningful life, deeply rooted in his love for family and friends.

Rickey is survived by his daughters, Natalie Banuelos and her husband Rudy Banuelos of Rockwall, Texas, and Elizabeth Brooks of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Judy Rawley of San Antonio, Texas; and his grandchildren, Kennedy Banuelos, Taylor Banuelos, and Brooks Banuelos of Rockwall, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty DeBerry and his father, James Brooks.

A funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Rockwall located at 610 S. Goliad St., Rockwall, TX 75087. A reception will immediately follow at the home of Natalie and Rudy Banuelos.

Rickey will be laid to rest on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.in the Lone Star Cemetery just outside of Clarksville, Texas with his grandparents Elmer and Beatrice Foshee.
