Rickey James Burnside, 60, of Ponder, passed away on Tuesday, December 04, 2012. He was born on May 22, 1952 in Lubbock, TX to James Travis Burnside and Betty Foster Billington. He married Carla Witt in February 2011 and was a member of the Denton County Cowboy Church. He loved watching any and all football games, was a member of AGC, and attended Lake Dallas High School. He loved competition cooking.

A memorial service will be on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Ponder with Jeff Tackett officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Denton County Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 636, Ponder, TX 76259.

Rickey is survived by his wife, Carla; daughters, Casey Burnside, Kristi Dice, Stacey Hedrick, Monica Monasmith, and Danni Jo Dunn; father, James Travis Burnside; sisters, Rhonda Shively and Kate Byerly; brothers, Phillip and James Burnside; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty.
