Robbie Calvert Swafford, 78, of Denton, passed away on January 9, 2013. She was born on January 31, 1934 in Denton to Hollis C. Calvert and Lucille Turner Calvert. She married Richard P. Swafford on November 23, 1954 in Denton and was a retired school teacher of Robert E. Lee Elementary. She was a member of the Sherman Drive Church of Christ, the Denton County Historical Society Museum, Boy and Cub Scouts, the secretary of Ponder Homecoming, and a Sunday School Teacher.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Weylan Deaver officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or to the Sherman Drive Church of Christ.

Robbie is survived by her sons, Robert Paul Swafford, Kelly Ray Swafford, and Richard Lee Swafford; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, Hollis C. Calvert, Jr.
