Obituary

Robert "Wayne" Clemm, formerly of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas, with loving family nearby. He was born on December 30, 1938, to Harry Clemm and Helen Mae Vance.

He was a member of Central Christian Church and in the Boy Scouts of America. He earned the Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, DeMolays, and Elks Lodge. Wayne graduated from Fair Park High School in 1957 and Northwestern State college in Natchitoches with his BA in 1960. Wayne met his sweetheart, Barbara Shinault, at a dance in Bossier City in 1959. They married on December 23, 1960, and recently celebrated their 60th anniversary, both saying they would do it again. He served in the US Army from 1962 - 1967 in the 11th Armored Cavalry, Black Horse Regiment, until separating in 1967 as a Captain in the Artillery.

Mr. Clemm entered Federal Civil Service with the USAF and spent 24 years in Civilian Personnel, retiring as a Personnel Officer after serving 12 different Air Force bases in the US and 8 years in Germany, England, and Italy. After retiring from Federal Service, he began another career lasting 24 years training mules and became a Master Wheelwright. He established a business, Clemm Wheel & Wagon Works, in Poteet, Texas that restored chuck wagons, wooden wheels, and Civil War cannons.

Survivors include his wife of 60+ years, Barbara Clemm of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Stacey Renee Clemm and Sharon Ketko Summers and her husband, Terry Summers; one granddaughter, Devin McGregor Ketko of Los Angeles, California; one brother and his wife, David, and Jeannie Clemm of New Hampshire; Diane Caldwell of Fort Worth; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his Uncle Johnny and Leila Will Clemm, his Uncle Talmage and Aline Vance, and his nephew, Chris Clemm.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 10:30AM at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103, (318) 861-3544.
