Obituary

Robert Harold Elmore, 96, of Ponder, Texas passed away in Carrollton, Texas Saturday, September 4, 2021. He was born in Wilder, Tennessee on August 10, 1925, to William Carroll and Sally Frisbey Elmore.

Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Robert left high school to enlist in the United States Army where he proudly served during World War II as a Paratrooper in the 13th Airborne Division.

He married Margaret Smith after the war, and they went on to have three children together. He was an intelligent man who loved working with his hands, retiring from Hauserman Carpentry as a Superintendent. Robert was also a bit of an entrepreneur, owning land in multiple locations, his favorite being in Ponder, Texas.

He was always dedicated to his family, and on June 5, 1999, he married Georgia Mae Hilger Baker where he gained additional family to dote on. The pair enjoyed going to the horse races,  vacationing and working on their farm.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, son, Lawrence Steven Elmore, and daughter Janet Elmore Hughes.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Baker-Elmore, son James Manning Elmore, Granddaughter Christina Lawson Williams and husband Shawn Williams, and Great-grandsons Landry Williams and wife Hannah Williams, Dallas Williams and wife Rebecca Williams.

There are no services planned, as those were Robert's wishes.
