Robert L. Gillum, 75, of Denton passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born October 2, 1939 in Tioga, Texas to George Walker Gillum and Nattie Carrius Martin Gillum. He married Pat Lyons on June 18, 1982 at Lake Kiowa, Texas. He has retired from Peterbilt Motors after 29 years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.

He is survived by his wife, Pat of Denton; daughters, Melanie Crozier of McKinney, Melissa Crozier of Sanger, and Kathy Lefler of Dallas; sons, Mike Gillum of Whitesboro and Lance Gillum of Aubrey; sister-in-law, Mary Gillum of Denton; grandchildren, Damian Juarez, Dillon Crozier, Lane Newman, Jacob Gillum, Madison Gillum, Ginny Lamb, Katie Gillum, Ryne Gillum, Kyle Lefler, and Kory Lefler. He is preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made for a memorial marker to be placed in Robert's name. Donations can be sent to DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Dr., Denton, Texas 76201. Please note on the check in the memo line "Robert Gillum's Marker".
