Robert John "Bob" Lenters, 72, of Denton, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Medical City of Denton after a long illness. He was born on October 11, 1947 in Chicago, IL to Bernard and Jennie Lenters. Bob graduated from DeVry University and worked in techical and customer support for IBM until his retirement.  For some years after retiring from IBM he pursued his passion of working with cars and had a small auto painting business.  He enjoyed spending time with family and attending classic car shows.  He married Sylvia Wildman Brownlee on March 17, 1995 in Fort Worth, Texas. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, son Nathan Lenters, and brother-in-law Jim Riedstra.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 25, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with the funeral starting at 11:30. Interment will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Bob is survived by his wife Sylvia, children Robert Lenters of College Grove, Tn, Derek (Cristin) Lenters of Palos Heights, IL, and Ryer (Brandi) Lenters of Tinley Park, IL, step-children Bill (Melissa) Brownlee of Sanger, TX, Mary Brownlee of Plano, TX, and Jesse Brownlee of Denton, TX, grandchildren Max Lenters, Holland Lenters, Zoey Lenters, Ryer Lenters, and George Brownlee.  He is also survived by his sister, Ann Riedstra, mother-in-law Barbara Wildman, his beloved niece and nephews, many extended family members and friends, and his dog, Minnie.
