Robert Paul Monschke, 69, of Krum, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He was born on November 26, 1944 in Denton to Alfred Gustav Monschke and Ruth Preston Monschke. After growing up on the family farm in Krum, TX, he attended the University of North Texas. He worked as a systems engineer most recently at Sun Microsystems in California, and retired in 2002. He then moved back to Texas to enjoy retirement and life as a grandfather. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Krum Society of Historic Preservation, the Denton County Antique Tractor Club, and enjoyed serving in the Krum community.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 2-4 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:00 am at Jackson Cemetery in Krum.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Steffanee Moynagh and husband Mark; grandchildren, Cole, Cate, and Marlee Moynagh; companion, Mary K. Holicky; and three brothers, Charles Monschke and wife Alta of Krum, Larry Monschke and wife Ginny of Haslet, and Harold Monschke and wife Debbie of Krum. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, John David Monschke.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Krum Society of Historic Preservation, 150 W. McCart St., Krum, Texas 76249, or to the American Cancer Society.
