IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Harold
Pflughoft
November 13, 1954 – November 17, 2020
Robert "Bob" Pflughoft, 66, of Aubrey, Texas passed away on November 17, 2020 in Denton, Texas. He was born on November 13, 1954 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Bob held a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from The University of North Texas. He was a graduate of Heartland School of Ministry, where he made two trips to the mission fields in El Salvador and Belize. He was an ordained minister with The Fellowship Network since 2010. Bob had a rather uniquely strong prayer life that he felt was his calling to teach and encourage others to strive to achieve. Bob Pflughoft truly and completely loved Jesus Christ.
Bob served as a Dallas Fire and Rescue Officer for 8-years as a Fire Fighter, Hazardous Materials Specialist and EMT. He considered it his biggest accomplishment and looked at his service as more than a career, but rather a ministry. Bob volunteered with the Fire Department chaplain services, worked Fill-The-Boot every year and helped at The State Fair of Texas for Denton State School Day. He was the first Easter Bunny (nick-named himself the "Wooky-Wabbit") at the DFD Training Facility. He dearly loved serving the citizens of Dallas and his brothers and sisters of the DFD.
In spite of the many physical challenges that Bob suffered he maintained a joyful and outgoing personality. He believed he could accomplish anything he set his mind to do and the family joked about what seemed to develop as his favorite comment to describe any project he set out to do, "all you have to do…" He was the life of the party and never met a stranger. He maintained that every day was Christmas, every day was a birthday. Life was and is a celebration every day.
Bob and Diana were married for 35-years and their bond was an inspiration to many. She often referred to him as her "knight in Holy Armor."
Bob officiated several wedding services, but took the most pride in officiating the wedding services for his son and daughter-in-law. He zealously loved and adored his son, Preston, daughter-in-law Shannon and two grand-sons Luke age 14 and Levi age 11.
He is survived by his wife, Diana, son, Preston Rowland, brothers, David Pflughoft, Tim Pflughoft, and Tom Pflughoft, and sister Barbara Simpson.
