Obituary

Robert Glenn Robinson, 72, of Justin, Texas passed away on December 13, 2023, at his home. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas on May 12, 1951 to Bill and Bobbie Robinson.

Rob grew up in Weatherford, Texas and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1969. Rob loved adventure, photography, hunting, and fishing. He had the gift of gab and was a great storyteller and an animal lover. While in high school he became interested in photography and pursued his passion by capturing moments of rodeo Cowboys and opening his own studio, Rob Robinson Photography. His passion for photography continued throughout his life.

In 1970 he enlisted into the US Navy and was stationed in Beeville, Texas, where he worked on ejector seats and always had a story to tell about his time there.  After his service in the US Navy, he attended Weatherford Junior College where he went on to obtain his bachelor of arts degree at the University of North Texas in 1979.

Rob was a true salesman holding many sales positions over his lifetime. He worked for the Denton Record Chronicle selling ads, and later became a licensed insurance agent with Texas Farm Bureau; eventually opening Rob Robinson insurance agency in Denton, Texas. In 1988 he moved to Justin, Texas where he joined the Justin Volunteer Fire Department realizing his passion for emergency medicine.

Rob worked several years as an EMT but eventually went back into sales. He and his wife Judy opened AutoStart, an automotive electrical shop, in Lewisville, Texas until his retirement in 2018. Whether you knew him as Robby or Rob, he was a fun, witty, adventurous, encouraging, and compassionate guy who will be missed dearly by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Judy of Justin, Tx., son, Shane Robinson of California, daughters, Jennifer Gist and husband Joe of California, and Sarah Walker of Justin, Tx., sister, Vicki Robinson and husband Rob of Florida; his brother, Chris, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Tosh, Jackson, James, Wyatt, and Charlotte.
